We’re sorry if you missed out on a ticket, however, we are recording the speakers and will have talks posted after the conference. Please follow @rvasec on Twitter (or the good ol’ RSS feed) for video announcements and registration dates for next year!

RVAsec CTF Update

RVAsec is just about a week away and we are excited for many reasons!

This year’s conference marks several firsts:

  • two days of talks
  • two speaker tracks
  • and of course the first RVAsec Capture the Flag (CTF) event!

For more details about the CTF, please check out http://rvasecprod.wpenginepowered.com/ctf/

We’ve had a number of people pre-register (http://securabit.com/ctf/), which is fantastic, and you can pre-register all the way up to the day before CTF. The only requirements are that you are an RVAsec attendee and you bring your own laptop. You can even show up to the CTF and participate without pre-registration, space permitting.

And, of course, there are prizes!

1st Place – Nexus 7 PwnPad
2nd Place – Raspberry Pi
3rd Place – 1 BSides Las Vegas ticket
4th Place – 1 BSides Las Vegas ticket
5th Place – The highest of fives

RVAsec Hotel Block Almost Full!

The reserved RVAsec block of rooms at the Crowne Plaza is almost full!  If you need a room for the conference please book as soon as possible.

The rate is $112/night (which includes parking)– when you call ask to speak with “in-house reservations” and mention the block “RVAsec” to get the special rate.  Unfortunately, you will need to call the hotel to get the rate and cannot get the rate online.

Crowne Plaza Richmond Downtown
555 East Canal Street, Richmond VA 23219

804-788-0900 or 800-2CROWNE

The hotel has a shuttle that runs back and forth from the conference location at VCU for both days.

When the RVAsec block is full or is expired we cannot extend it.  If for some reason you need another hotel here is a link to some near the conference location.

RVAsec almost full–15 spots left!

Registration ends in just over a day, but right now there are only 15 tickets left for the conference!

So if you’ve been waiting for some reason… time to register now!

There are still a few spots open in the Lockpicking, Malware Analysis and SANS MGT 432 classes.

Jericho added to RVAsec lineup!

Just in case you still haven’t bought a ticket for RVAsec a day before registration ends, here’s a bit more to sweeten the pot: Jericho of attrition.org (@attritionorg) has agreed to present again! We’re  not sure what he’ll come up with on short notice, but we’ve demanded it end with a standing ovation.

In case you missed his talk from last year, here’s the video:
